It is fair to say that recent COVID19 Global Pandemic has not only given rise to new consumption trends butalso strenghtend ones that were already on the rise. Throughout these recent “habits”, one has particularly affected many areas of the nutraceutical and cosmeceutical sectors: beauty from within.

Growing consumer awareness on the ingestible beauty trend has led the nutrition industry to pay more attention to this growing segment. Beauty is much more than a good moisturizer, but rather requires a holistic approach in combination with a healthy diet. Infact, one of the Top Ten Trends in the Food industry from Innova Market Insights was “Eat Pretty”: consumers eat or drink products that promote physical appearance or are good for hair, skin, or body (Innova Market Insights, Top 10 Food Trends for 2020).

Good news are on all fronts: Innova’s 2019 research study indicates that 76% of consumers aged between 26 and 55 years agreed that healthy aging started with what they ate and drank, while 56% said that they had increased their consumption of functional foods over the previous year. Moreover, there is an increaslingly blurred boundary between supplements and food/drinks: 29.7% of over 55s cited tablets and 26% cited capsules as their preferred form of intake for supplements; among those aged 26 to 35 years, nearly 30% preferred supplements in the form of food products and 27.7% as beverages.

The main results are two. First of all, products with active health claims are increasingly featuring in the marketplace to face transaparency needs. Next, as we build the bridge between beauty and healthy aging, fine lines and tight skin will walk hand in hand with joint health, energy/alertness, immune health and so on, as the entire population is engaging in preventive care.

How to catch the all-in-one trend?
For several years, Sochim has focused on Biocell Collagen® to meet different customer requests regarding several health targets such as joint health, but also for the development of skincare supplements. Now more than ever, this strategy is proving to be a winner.

Biocell Collagen® is one of the world’s best-known patented complexes, based on Type II Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and Chondroitin Sulfate. Developed and manufactured in the United States and Germany, it boasts numerous clinical studies that confirm its multiple properties:

  1. Reduces dryness of the skin
  2. Improves skin elasticity
  3. Significantly reduces facial lines and wrinkles

BioCell’s unique matrix is not a blend of individual ingredients. Numerous safety, efficacy, and bioavailability research studies, including seven human clinical trials, confirm that BioCell Collagen® not only promotes youthful-looking skin, but also active joints and healthy connective tissues.
